I have started wrapping the grand kids Christmas presents. When you have 15, you can’t wait until Christmas eve to do it. I am continuing something that I started last year since it proved to be very popular. That is the word search wrapping for a group of teens. Pick Your Plum help me add a really exciting element to it. Of those of you who haven’t heard of Pick Your Plum, they offer few things at a time. Then they disappear. Some things are craft items, some are clothes and some are party things. More than once I have thought about something and went back and it was GONE.
Last summer Pick Your Plum offered wooden buttons that were customized for you. I ordered a bunch with the idea of using them on the grand kids Christmas presents but didn’t really have an idea on just how to I was going to use them.
When Pick Your Plum offered up bakers string, I decided that those two would make a great finish for the search a word.
I really like the way the search of words came out. Now I just have to wait for Christmas. For those you who didn’t read last years post, I create a search a word for for each kid with their name buried someplace in it. There is no way to know which one is your without finding your name in the grid. It is really funny watching them trying to find their names. They keep trading off bags or looking over their neighbors shoulders.
The kids are competitive with first bragging rights going to the one who can find their name first. Second bragging rights go to the one who can find all the words on their list inside their bag. It will be at that point they will see the writing on the buttons.
